Combination 97 (or 95).

Marlon Wilson drew my attention to this video in which GM Villari demonstrates what he references as combination 97, but has also been taught as combination 95. To my mind, it seems like a variant of combination 22, but with more of a ‘tiger’ flair to it. Its the first technique on the video.

Shaolin Broad Sword

I’m not sure it it was just an ‘East Coast’ thing or if it spread to the larger Shaolin Kempo community, but we imported an elementary broadsword form as a weapons form. Here’s a rendition of the form that captures the general nature of how the Shaolin Kempo schools did it:

Nick Cerio’s Kenpo by belt – Studios Unis

Studios Unis in Canada has a Youtube Channel that again has material organized by belt rank. The demonstrations seem pretty clear, so check out their channel and give them the like and subscribe if you enjoy what you find. It’s an offshoot from Pesare’s system, so it will give some context to the Shaolin Kempo of the East Coast based on GM Nick Cerio’s development and further training with Professor William Chow.
