Advanced Form Writeups Coming
In the last couple weeks, a couple folks have contacted me to offer new writeups for some of the advanced forms. It was strange, as things have been pretty quiet – which is to be expected I guess- since the archive is getting pretty close to complete. There are of course many things we can do to fill it out, but the supply of ‘things we need’ has dwindled. So, first up, Kevin Hirakis has sent me a writeup of Hansuki, so that will be added to the collection tonight. Many other black belt forms are coming, courtesy of David Richter, so for the first time in a while, new things to read are coming. Thanks to Kevin and Dave for contributing.
Kempo / Kenpo Glossary Resources
Kempo has a lot of weird terms in it, so we established a glossary a while back. Well, Kenpo, especially American Kenpo / EPAK has an even more daunting array of terms. Each named technique follows a very particular terminology indicating the type of attack, and giving a clue to the defense. Some are pretty straight forward (twin kimono = two handed lapel grab) while others aren’t. Several folks have set up explanations like this so you may want to bookmark them. First is Kenpomachines glossary, which is pretty comprehensive, but in case they missed any, the kenponet has another glossary of more general kenpo terms. It might be a good idea to bookmark them so you can quickly look up what your EPAK friends are talking about.
