John Bishop‘s current book emphasizes more the history of the art. I figured I’d provide a link if anyone was interested in checking it out. Also, here’s his second video from Youtube on Kajukenbo concepts. It gives insight into the mindset on how the techniques are integrated from the various component arts keeping in mind the concept of ‘flow’.

Kajukenbo Concepts Part One
Kajukenbo is an offshoot of the Kempo of Chow and Mitose, and the Kempo that most folks do on the East Coast ( Shaolin Kempo) and Karazenpo Goshinjutsu are derived from Kajukenbo. Professor John Bishop has written two books on Kajukenbo, and has posted some videos on Youtube explaining some of the concepts. I think many of them apply (or at least should) to Kempo training, and are an interesting jumping off point for some conversation. Here’s part one.

Mark Golden uploaded this one, and it reminds me of Spear, Shield and Hammer by Professor Kimo Ferreira. He calls it ‘Snake and Crane’. There’s a thread to discuss it in the forum.
