The other “Shaolin Kempo”; no, not that one.

Over in Europe, there is another Shaolin Kempo more related to Pentjak Silat. Here’s a 1969 demo of the art which shows some of the similarities and differences. I think we all should film ourselves with old 8mm cameras – it makes you look so fast.

Another Familiar Yet Different Branch

For those familiar with S.George Pesare’s Kenpo, you probably have seen some of the historical footage he was kind enough to share regarding his early training. That footage was shot in Bill Ryusaki’s yard. Bill Ryusaki went on to run his own organization, and even appeared in Wesley Snipes’ ‘Masters of the Martial Arts’ show. Here are some examples of techniques done by some of his students in Brazil. Look for ones you recognize – I found a few. Again, not Shaolin Kempo, but a close cousin.

Wrestling Takedowns – Revolution Martial Fitness
