This seems unrelated, but another author, G.D. Baum wrote an article entitled, “How To Write A Murder Mystery – Writing Articles” in which he elaborates not only on how to write, but on the intersection of his Shaolin Kempo training and his learning of Tai Chi. I actually latched on to this article because I also found that learning Tai Chi (and much of the other cross training I did) really gave a new depth to my understanding of Kempo. I just spoke a few hours ago with Professor Feliciano ‘Kimo’ Ferreira, and he emphasized the same point.

Unfortunate News: Kalaii Griffin, R.I.P.
Postings on several Kenpo and Kajukenbo boards have announced the passing of GM Kalaii Griffin. He was a noted Kenpo and Kajukenbo man from Springfield, MA, and had been appointed to Sijo Adriano Emperado’s board of advisors for Kajukenbo. I’d like to offer my condolences to his family and students.

More regarding an independent Kempo organization.
Over at Martial Arts Planet, Karate-Dragon asked about a central Kempo organization. I had mentioned this earlier here based on a thread at a Kung Fu magazine forum. Karate Dragon Asked:
Has there been any interest in a main organization? Since there are now so many branches and schools that teach the basicsof a system but then have branched off on their own, wouldn’t it be nice to have a central group to work with and perhaps have a governing body for advancements? Also, what do you think about the importance in seeing some of the videos on your site of forms, and knowing that your school does them differently? How do we really know what is right??
