It’s a little silly, but it just gives me the warm fuzzies and a little bit of validation to see a YouTube short of Bas Rutten doing a drill that I have been doing with my students for probably over 15 years. I have a couple of levels to this one, but here’s the first one.

This is a great drill. I find it, and similar drills useful in getting students keep their hands up and their elbows in front of their midline.
Reminds me of what James Mitose called the Kempo stance in his first book. Hand up in front of the chest in prayer position. Non-threatening, but got the arms and hands in a useful position to block and strike from.
