I have been extraordinarily busy lately – my teacher is in town, I’ve taken over a small Kempo club, and my day job has been very demanding of time. Because of these pitiful excuses, I’ve let something else that is very important to me slide. My team (Sage’s Walkinators) is walking in the MDA muscle walk in Providence, Rhode Island and I’ve raised 15% of my goal. How important is this to me? My teacher has flown in from Hawaii, and is teaching at one of the dojos I call home, and I will be walking that day instead. He understands – he treats my daughter as if she was his grandchild. My daughter was diagnosed with Limb-Girdle Muscular Dystrophy at a young age, and I am aiming to raise as much as I can for research.
