Over the many years that kempoinfo has been taking shape, many other people of kempo helped to provide support, material, and encouragement to make it into the resource it is today. Frequently I get comments, thank you notes, or even ‘in person’ thanks when I’m off at a seminar. These have all been wonderful. Briefly I used advertisements to offset the cost of the hosting program, but found that they were annoying to me, and probably to the other readers so I got rid of them. The money it costs to run the site is small and the benefit big.
Sometimes folks do feel they should contribute, and several folks suggested that I put in a paypal tip jar. I appreciate the sentiment, but I don’t do this for the money. However, I’m going to ask you for money now anyway. The money isn’t exactly for me, though.
My daughter has Muscular Dystrophy. She is doing well, it isn’t impacting her nearly as much as many other kids with this disease, and if you were to meet her, you probably wouldn’t notice. This may not always be the case, but we take it one day at a time. We are participating in the MDA walk in Natick, Massachusetts this year and have formed a team for fundraising. If you enjoy kempoinfo.com, please consider a donation to the MDA. There’s a link below to my team’s page. If you click on my name (Matt Barnes) it will go toward my goal, but even better would be to make a little girl’s day, and click on Sage to help her fundraising. Kempoinfo is and always will be a free resource, so don’t feel obligated to donate, but I certainly will appreciate it if you do. Thanks!
