Eight Point Blocking System

8-Point blocking system 

1 – Right hand comes out from elbow position, across the body, and then rotates upwards in quarter circle until the lower portion of the arm is vertical. 

2 – Same as #1, but with the left hand. 

3 – Right hand is raised until it is next to the right ear, with the forearm being parallel to the floor, the arm is then passed in front of the body with the forearm in a vertical alignment. 

4 – Same as #3, but with the left hand. 

5 – Right hand comes out from elbow position, across the body, and then the arm is lifted, with the forearm parallel to the floor above the head. 

6 – Same as #5, but with the left hand. 

7 – Right hand is raised until it is next to the left ear, then the arm is extended in a downward block in front of the body. 

8 – Same as #7, but with the left hand. 

 

8-Point blocking system w/counter strikes 

1 – Right hand comes out from elbow position, across the body, and then rotates upwards in quarter circle until the lower portion of the arm is vertical. Snap out a front two-knuckle strike to the head and then pull back until the forearm is vertical. 

2 – Same as #1, but with the left hand. 

3 – Right hand is raised until it is next to the right ear, with the forearm being parallel to the floor, the arm is then passed in front of the body with the forearm in a vertical alignment. Strike with a back two-knuckle to the head. 

4 – Same as #3, but with the left hand. 

5 – Right hand comes out from elbow position, across the body, and then the arm is lifted, with the forearm parallel to the floor above the head. Rotate the arm into a hammer fist to the ribs. 

6 – Same as #5, but with the left hand. 

7 – Right hand is raised until it is next to the left ear, then the arm is extended in a downward block in front of the body. Strike the chin with a chicken wrist. 

8 – Same as #7, but with the left hand. 

 

Open Hand 8-point blocking 

1 – Right hand comes out from elbow position, opens up into sword hand position, across the body, and then rotates upwards in quarter circle until the lower portion of the arm is vertical with the palm pointing towards the attacker. 

2 – Same as #1, but with the left hand. 

3 – Right hand is raised until it is next to the right ear in sword hand position, with the forearm being parallel to the floor, the arm is then passed in front of the body with the forearm in a vertical alignment with the palm facing away from the attacker. 

4 – Same as #3, but with the left hand. 

5 – Right hand comes out from elbow position in sword hand position, across the body, and then the arm is lifted, with the forearm parallel to the floor above the head with the palm facing the attacker. 

6 – Same as #5, but with the left hand. 

7 – Right hand is raised until it is next to the left ear in sword hand position, then the arm is extended in a downward block in front of the body with the palm facing away from the attacker. 

8 – Same as #7, but with the left hand.
